The ultimate dream of everyone running for the office of the President of the United States is to occupy the Presidential White House located on 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington.

Joe Biden’s residence may not compare to the extravagant, $100 million penthouse Donald Trump called home while running for president, but we definitely wouldn’t say he’s roughing it. The former VP and once-dubbed “poorest senator” has been doing quite well since he and Barack officially left office, reportedly raking in millions thanks to book deals and speaking events (some paying up to $200,000). So why wouldn’t he move into a 12,000-square-foot Georgian style home “surrounded by Washington elite” in McLean, Virginia?.

Joe, who’s admitted to being “seduced by real estate,” and his wife started renting the mansion in 2017 to the tune of about $19,000 a month, according to a Zillow estimate (which also lists the home’s value as $4.7 million).
With five bedrooms, nine baths, a gym, and an in-house sauna, it’s a pretty luxurious spread. But though the facade gives off somewhat of a mini-White House vibe, the interiors are just what you’d expect from a couple of tasteful grandparents.

It remains to be seen if good electoral fortune will propel the Democratic Presidential candidate into moving from the modest “White House “in Virginia to the real deal in Washington in January next year.
